What's New... 2010 Best Practice Award Results In honor of Patient Safety Week, OPSI will reveal a 2010 Best Practice Award finalist each day this week and the winner Friday, March 12.
Congratulations to Euclid Hospital for its implementation of a project focused on the elimination of MRSA colonization in Intensive Care Unit and Coronary Care Unit patients. This best practice was a collaborative effort involving both clinical and non-clinical departments and is an example of Ohio’s Patient Safety Week theme: Step up to Safety: What Position are you Playing? Read more about this best practice.
Culture of Safety: Online registration is now open for OPSI's 2010 Teleconference series. This 8-part audio conference series will focus on a culture of accountability to improve patient safety processes. Join us Wednesday, March 10, for our second session: Contributing to a Culture of Safety by Preventing Ventilator- Associated Pneumonia, presented in conjunction with Patient Safety Week.
OPSI 2009 Best Practice Award winner Jodi Mullen, RN, will describe a patient care initiative to decrease ventilator-associated pneumonia and identify multidisciplinary strategies for implementing a safety improvement process.
